Historic Background for Grub Steak Tours
Bob Richard follows in the footsteps of his grandfather Fred,
partner of the Frost and Richard Ranch. In the early 1900s, Fred
escorted guests of Buffalo Bill Cody through Yellowstone Park,
entertaining them with tales of history, often from personal experience.
They were one of the region's most prominent tour operators of
the time, driving stagecoaches for Yellowstone tours that took
three weeks of bone-jarring travel.
By contrast, you’ll take your tour in the comfort of a modern
vehicle, and you’ll have a variety of choices on the length
of your trip and sights you want to see. What hasn't changed since
the stagecoach days is the pleasure of relaxing while someone
else does the driving - and gives you a special view of the area
he knows so well.
Ranger Days
Today, Bob and his guides delight guests with stories that carry
through the generations. Many are from his time as a Yellowstone
Park Ranger in the 1950s on the "horse patrol.” He
helped visitors enjoy their national park a bit more by sharing
his detailed knowledge and stories of the area. He also gained
an insider's view of Yellowstone that is sure to make your tour
unique. |
